2 Years and counting

Two years ago tomorrow Amy and I got married, and the last two years have been all of these things:
Fun, adventurous, and just downright good.
I look back on the last two years and think of all of the friends we have made, places we have been (thanks to Amy Free photography, mostly), places we have lived (thanks Barrett and Christi), changes we have gone through (stupid diabetes, good Amy's new company), pets we have adopted (lazy, worthless pets), and laughs we have shared (mostly at each other), and I couldn't be more excited to tack on more of these years with this lady we all know and love.

The picture I put on here is one of my all time favorites, from Crested Butte, CO. Amy was obsessed with their almond mochas (or something like that), so we stopped here for coffee at least once daily.

The need for food

A sad article. Even in the greatest country in the world, 14.6% of families had trouble even feeding themselves. Makes you wonder what it looks like in other countries, eh? Please continue to support the use of technology in agriculture, as our ever expanding global population will increase the need for food production tremendously.

the big pup.

So, despite Ross's best attempts to act like Bristol is just a big ole' lug of a dog, he really does have a soft spot for our pup. I think that she thinks he is pretty awesome too... and I think in her heart of hearts she also believes that (despite being over 100 lbs) she is a lap dog.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Congrats to Emily Wells for being the queen of all sports knowledge, ever. She has earned herself delicious brownies, and bragging rights for one year. I would also like to extend congrats to Katie Chesney for a great 2nd place effort.

Next on the agenda is the man quiz, which will be made up by Amy and will involve non sports questions. Please look to us in the future for all your quiz needs.

Love,
Ross and Amy

Something of a rivalry...

We love our friends Matt and KK. They love their sports teams. Enough to defile Brutus the Buckeye with weird hand gestures.

I lost a bet to KK last year when Texas beat Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. I had to take my picture with a Longhorn.

This is not a Longhorn. This is a Scottish Highlander a treated when I was in Charlotte. It was much cooler than a Longhorn.

The SHOWDOWN!!!!!

So, thank you again to all who submitted quiz entries. Tied for 2nd were Lauren, Sarah, and Steffani. Tied for first were Katie and Emily with an outstanding 8/9. The only person who was nt guessed correctly was the wrestler, #4, The Ultimate Warrior. The most well known person was Kobe Bryant.

So, to decide the winner, I need Emily and Katie to take round #2- winner take all (again).

1. Who won last year's Stanley Cup (Hockey)?
2. What does DH stand for in baseball?
3. Who won last year's NBA championship?
4. What city held the 2008 Summer Olympics?
5. How many teams are in the Big Ten conference?
6. Name one person on ESPN's College Gameday crew.
Tiebraker (if needed): How many career home runs did Hank Aaron have?

Woo Hoo!!!!!

Amy has been doing some freelance work for Fayetteville's Cityview Magazine lately, and not only does she have a bunch of photos in this month's issue; she also took the picture on the cover!

The Challenge: How much does your wife/girlfriend know about sports?

The rules are simple. Have your wife/girlfriend take the quiz, since my love of quizzes goes back to the back row of the vet school auditorium and getting through dermatology. You cannot coach/help, and no answers can be looked up. No partial credit. Each answer, no matter how ridiculous, must be submitted as a comment on the blog. Any forms with blanks are disqualified. Anyone suspected of cheating will be paid a visit by Amy's brothers who love firearms, in fact her brother Scott just finished this course. Contest ends Oct 31st. The winner gets a batch of Amy's 7 layer brownie amazingness mailed to her house.

Stupid Vampires

Amy and I have ashamedly been watching The Vampire Diaries on the CW. What I can't understand is why all TV and movie vampires want to stay in high school forever. I think most of us don't look at high school as the best years of our lives, so if I was a TV/movie vampire I think I would be the young adult vampire guy. Plus, I believe by law people who are >10o years old are not supposed to date high school girls. Call me crazy.

Honesty in Marriage

Amy: Let's test your blood sugar.
Me: No, it hurts.
Amy: That is not a good excuse.
Me: Fine.
Amy (after seeing mine was 105): Dang you.
Me: What? Were you hoping it was like 4,000?
Amy: Maybe.

Catching up...

Amy here! So, I was cleaning out some photos on my phone and came across a few that I wanted to be sure to share....

#1: Citizen's Day at my nephew Luke's school. It's really awesome that in a city like this one, our country is celebrated in an awesome and unique way because of the military presence. The whole elementary school came outside for the presentation and guest speaker, which just so happened to be my brother Scott (or should I say Major Noon- insert salute here). All the kids had flags and sang America the Beautiful... I totally got choked up. It was precious hearing all those little voices singing, seeing the flags, and knowing how many families lives are dedicated to the freedom of this country here in Fayetteville.
#2 Bristol's big fat nose. One of my favorite things that our huge pup does at night is snuggle up and lay her head on my belly (please don't judge me for the empty walls in our bedroom!). I just so happened to have my phone right next to me and was able to snag this shot without her moving a muscle. I mean seriously, you can help but love this dog.
#3 Precious moments with baby Gracyn. This was from my trip to MT this summer and somehow slipped through the cracks. I just adore the look on Mark's face and I marvel at how much his baby girl looks like him. Gracie has grown up a lot in the past few months, so I love this image of her precious tininess on her daddy's knee.
#4 Smurf baby. Yes, this was also from earlier this summer and it just freaking cracks me up every time I look at it. We were at one of Luke's baseball games and this little baby had been eating a blue Italian ice that totally stained her whole face blue. BAH. She looks pretty happy about it too. Did I mention that it was about 110 degrees too? Thank goodness for FALL!!!

You Serious, Clark?

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife have been arrested in west Texas for investigation of skipping out on a $10,000 hotel bill in California.

Presidio County sheriff's officials said Thursday that Quaid and wife Evi are in custody in the town of Marfa, but the department isn't releasing other details.
